All new Challenger MT400B and MT500B Series

In another step forward in growing the strength of the Challenger Brand we would like to introduce the all new Challenger MT400B and MT500B Series.

Our commitment to wheel tractors is evident in the advances made in the B series, such as superior operator comfort, exceptional implement power and control, efficient transmission, true four wheel drive and industry leading Caterpiller and Sisu engines.

The much anticipated MT400B and MT500B Series were welcomed by dealers at the official launch in Melbourne.

The class leading cabin shared by both Series – designed to ensure ease of operation, spaciousness and comfort – was noted by dealers as an exceptional feature in the B series.

“The quietness of the cabin is sensational, you really have to experience it in the field to appreciate this development,” said Jason Cronk, New and Used Equipment representative for WesTrac NSW.

The in-field demonstration highlighted the effectiveness of economy PTO in raking and tendering applications while the 500 Series had no problem in delivering the PTO power required in the heavy mowing conditions.

The dealer network noted that while the tractor was ideal for hay applications, the rated lift of 5,850 kg on the MT400B Series and up to 9,300 kg on MT500B meant the tractors were tailored to the growing size of modern tillage equipment.

Hydraulic flow of up to 100 lpm on the MT400B series and 110 lpm on the MT500B series ensures when equipment demands hydraulic flow for two different functions the tractors will stand up to the challenge.

The 16 X 16 synchronised transmission with power shift, 32 X 32 synchronised transmission with power shift, and optional TechStar CVT (Continously Variable Transmission) were in action at the launch, showing the benefits of clutchless direction changes, high transport speeds, multiple gear ratios within working speeds, ease of operation and infinite speeds offered by TechStar Technology.

The range now offers standard Caterpillar engines in the MT400B and MT500B whilst Sisu Motors are standard on the 160 plus horsepower tractors designed with low end power boast required for intensive low speed applications.
